There is no need to be concerned, even if you are such an individual. There are people for whom finding a partner is something they are willing to undertake; they are as eager to find their true love as you are.

On-line dating services make such a search seem to be the easiest, fastest thing ever. However, anyone who utilizes on-line dating services should be prepared for a waiting period. However, patience is the key here. Don’t stop hoping; the right person is out there, and wanting to be found as badly as you want to find that special someone.

It cannot be stressed enough, however, that caution should be exercised. Unfortunately, many sites that advertise their services as having no charges or fee sometimes are not. Some websites do not even technically fall into the category of an on-line dating service. You may see sites advertising sexy girls just waiting to hear from you. Others may entice you to get to know the girl of your dreams. Sites such as these will quite possibly be services wherein a number is given to be called, and charges are incurred by the minute. While the Internet is indeed home to legitimate sites, there are some whose practices cannot be considered above-board.

Internet sites for free on-line dating abound. My personal favorite, however, is Craigslist. Although it has been touted as being a “playground” for those whose sexual proclivities may lean toward perversion, or supposedly attracts those who admit to having fetish “issues”, it is a site where you can meet people who share your tastes and preferences. Craigslist is often utilized as a free on-line dating service site by those individuals who do not enjoy the average, run-of-the-mill dating service sites. Most dating service sites require that a profile suited to the individual using the site be submitted.

Craigslist is different in that communication is achieved through postings lasting only a short length of time, usually a number of weeks. Changing or deleting postings that are not of interest is not difficult; membership is not required; e-mail addresses, especially personal ones, do not have to be given.

Friends with whom you share common interests and pursuits can be located on Craigslist; it is also possible to arrange meetings with individuals. All this can be done without any personal information being exchanged or disclosed. It is my opinion that this offers a great quantity of freedom that is not otherwise given by ordinary dating service websites.

There is one major drawback to using Craigslist as an on-line dating service site; those with who you are in contact may not be who they are representing themselves to be. This, however, can be a problem with any on-line dating site; therefore, again it should be stressed that caution must be used. Maintaining contact for a sufficient period of time so as to be assured that the person with whom you are communicating is indeed that particular individual is advised.

It is also a good idea to arrange the initial encounter with anyone you meet on a dating website in a place where you are sure to be in close proximity to other people; i.e., a restaurant. This would ensure that both parties are in a position of possessing feelings of comfort and security. More than likely, such caution will prove unnecessary; however, as the old saying goes, “Better safe than sorry”.
